During your stay in the B&B or the self catering apartments we can arrange in-house classes with expert tutor Podi Lawrence.
The Summer House Art Studio is the perfect place to work from your sketches of the truly stunning local scenery, and the farmhouse lounge may also be used during the evenings for discussion with your tutor. Beyond the house are the extensive gardens where you can get lost in the flora and your painting.
A 300 metre walk will take you down to the Fleet Saltwater Estuary and Chesil Beach where you will have the opportunity to paint water/seascapes.
We can accommodate up to 4 tables of bridge in the farmhouse lounge. Bridge clubs are welcome to hold Duplicate or Chicago games over weekends or midweek stays. 4* full board or bed and breakfast accommodation is available and afternoon tea and home made cake is served daily.
Evening entertainment by local musicians can be arranged.
Come for a fishing break and stay at our farm, either in the B&B, self catering accommodation or in our mobile home. There is a tackle shop just a 5 minute walk away and we have a fridge/freezer available for fishermen. There is also a laundry room with washing and drying facilities and inside and outside sinks.
We have the Fleet Saltwater Estuary just 300 metres from the farm, and across the Lagoon is Chesil Beach, approximately 17 miles long, all of which is fishable but some areas are out-of-bounds as they are part of a nature reserve. It extends from Chesil Cove in the east to Bridport Harbour. The beach slopes very steeply especially at the eastern end.
During late spring and early summer, mackerel shoal along the whole of the beach in great numbers. Most people target them with a feather rig which can be bought cheaply from all tackle stores. Mackerel are most easily caught during daylight in calm weather and can come very close to the shore as dusk approaches.
Chesil Cove is a shingly area is at the eastern extremity of the Chesil Beach where it curves round the Isle of Portland. Unlike the rest of the Chesil Beach the seabed is rocky in places so it is best to fish to the right (as you face the sea) of the Cove House Inn. .
Bass, pouting, cod and conger are the species most commonly caught but black bream are also common at times. Night fishing generally gives the best catches
Fishing trips are also available from Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour.

This in turn makes it easier to hold your breath while hunting beneath the waves.
